What is Microblading?

Updated: Jul 1, 2018

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that creates hairlike strokes to fill in sparse or thinning brows. #Microblading is performed with the use of an ultra-thin blade. This blade is a grouping of extremely fine needles affixed to a handle to manually create clean and crisp lines that resemble eyebrow hairs. Using a hand tool and blade, natural pigment is deposited into the upper dermal layer of the skin, making it semi-permanent for 1-2 years, depending on the skin type and lifestyle.

Does Microblading hurt?

Everyone has different pain tolerances. I will always try my best to make sure you are as comfortable as possible and manage any discomfort. Most clients barely feel a thing – some even fall asleep while others find the pain intense, but manageable. Most say on a scale from 1-10 the pain level is 3.

Numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure as well as a topical anaesthetic during the procedure.

*Please note that if you are on your menstrual cycle or if you have had alcoholic beverages, coffee, or energizing drinks the day of and/or the night before, you may be more sensitive to the procedure.  We recommend to avoid these beverages 24 hrs prior to your appointment.

How long does the procedure take?

The appointment is typically 2 hours (sometimes 2.5) depending on how long it takes for your approval of the eyebrow shape and drawing.  Preparation, numbing, measuring and the drawing process can take up to 1 hour.  Microblading itself will take approximately 30-45 minutes.
